What are most common UX issues on websites?

User Experience covers a wide range of users’ interactions with websites, but quite often UX issues can be grouped into a few main categories.

  • Layout shift covers any changes to website layout that happen during page load time.
They result in high user frustration as users try to interact with elements that then shift their position.
  • Broken links – as new pages are created and old pages get removed, we sometimes forget to update outdated links. It is important to remember to always review links used on the website – user that lands on a 404 Page won’t always stay on the website.
  • Incorrect colours and fonts – using too many colours or different fonts might make it difficult for users to read your content. It’s also crucial to follow brand colours on your website as they help with user trust.
  • Mobile issues, usually on older websites. Web used to be focused on desktop users, but as most web users now have mobile devices, it’s important to ensure they can use your website.

To review those, and more issues, make sure to book a 45 Minute UX Homepage Review!

Joel’s Glass Mountains team has been amazing. I’m able to sleep better at night knowing that the websites are always being taken care of and that any problem, if it arises, will be fixed immediately. They take full ownership of everything they do, and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
